A SNYP volunteer built three cat shelters for us to offer. As you can see from the
pictures below, they are built with plywood and insulated for protection in the cold weather. Vinyl flooring is
installed inside along with a shelf to provide additional space.
We obtained the building instructions from Alley Cat Allies, and they suggest that one shelter
can house up to 5-7 cats. We added handles to make it easier to transport and
we supply four bricks to place it upon so the bottom of the house stays dry. Our choice of paint color ("Cat Vomit Brown") was
obviously not for beauty, but to disguise the shelter as much as possible from being seen in a field or backyard.
