Background: We need to surrender our cat, Angel, and I am hoping that you can help us.
This has been a heartbreaking decision. We adopted Angel from a shelter in California when she was only a few weeks old. That was seven years ago. She has the sweetest temperament and when things were good (i.e. no children and no other pets), she loved to have her belly rubbed, chase toys, run and play, etc. She was still timid, but loved to be around us. Because of one of our other cats and our toddler, Angel has relocated herself into our guest bedroom. All efforts at getting her to come out have failed - this is not new; it has been going on for over a year. I am 23 weeks pregnant with twins and we need the guest bedroom for the twins. We have no where else we can relocate her. We have tried anti-depressants / anti-anxiety medications for her but have not had any success. She really would do best being the only pet in a home without small children. I have solicited all of our friends and acquaintances to try and find her a new home. No luck. I have contacted our pet sitting service - no luck. I have also contacted Operation Kindness and they are full. It makes me absolutely ill to think about having to take her to a shelter that does NOT have a no-kill policy. We are running out of time since our twins will be here in no less than 13 weeks. I sincerely appreciate any help you can provide.
